Found intact under four later layers

In September 2026 we took the modern cladding off and found the original Victorian timber shopfront intact, with hand-grained panelling and mouldings unseen for decades. Restoring it is our first job.

The story

One of the great names in Glasgow whisky

The pub belonged to William Brechin & Son, Glasgow wine and spirit merchants who made their own blended whisky. In 1888 they created a huge blend of twelve thousand gallons, using malts from across the Highlands and Islands.
